Originally demonstrated in Detroit at the GT Guy’s shop, this top, while very attractive, didn’t fit or function properly at that demonstration. Our hopes dashed, we came home with heavy hearts. I had contracted an outside firm to take several working tops we’d made, along with some new ideas for functionality and storability and complete the new top to be brought to market. It was beautiful and sleek no doubt, yet so complicated and elaborate the cost of producing this top was many, many times more than was estimated or even authorized. (Can nothing on this car be done without controversy??)

By comparison, this top was not nearly as easy to install, Shadowman dubbed it the “erector set”. She was never completed and, in the end, was retired to live out her days in quite dignity from within a display box hiding away up in the rafters somewhere.

It must be made right…

…and it has.
